He told Fancast that Zach would follow his father Peter (Chris Noth) throughout his campaign for office.
The actor explained: "Zach is desperate to get involved in some way with his dad's political career, and by the end, he does."
Phillips teased that the teen would see "a bit more real action" and that his ex-girlfriend Becca (Dreama Walker) would return.
"[She] comes back, and she's up to more mischief," he claimed.
The Good Wife returns on September 28 to CBS.
