The West Wing actress was cast as a news reporter on the CBS legal drama in June, but was forced to pull out of the role after sustaining a serious injury on set.
However, Chenoweth recently revealed on Twitter that she was "able to go back and shoot a short scene" to wrap up her character's arc.
The Good Wife star Josh Charles - who directed the scene - also confirmed Chenoweth's return, tweeting: "Having [Kristin] back with us on set today was absolutely the highlight of my day. Her talent, charm and warmth was inspiring."
Following Chenoweth's original exit, her former GCB co-star Miriam Shor was cast on The Good Wife as a second reporter.
The series will return to CBS on Sunday, September 30 at 9/8c. In the UK, The Good Wife airs on More4.
