A source told People that the actor will not return to the show after an April 9 taping.
The insider claimed that "Charlie's just done" and that he is "quietly telling his friends he's not coming back".
The 44-year-old has apparently decided not to renew his contract with CBS for an eighth season.
"Leaving is 100% his idea," the source continued.
Sheen's representative would not confirm his exit, only saying that he will fulfil his contract with the network at the end of the current season.
CBS has yet to comment on the report.
The TV star checked into a recovery facility last month as a "preventative measure" following his Christmas Day affray with wife Brooke Mueller.
