Sheen was fired from the sitcom in March following his public criticism of the show's creator Chuck Lorre and his increasingly erratic behaviour. Sheen also described his co-star Cryer as a "troll".
"I never want to go through that again," Cryer told Los Angeles TV station KTLA. "It was an awful thing to be part of. I'm glad that some peace has come out of it. I was surprised with everything that went down."
Ashton Kutcher has replaced Sheen as the lead actor in the show, with Cryer describing the No Strings Attached star as "amazing".
"Ashton was amazing. He took the roof off the place. The man works hard for the money. It's a lovely vibe," he said.
Cryer added that Sheen's character Charlie Harper's death on the show will be "funny", but gave no further details.
