The actor told MovieWeb that his character Jamie Wright could become a prime suspect for the murder of Rosie Larsen (Katie Findlay) in future episodes.
"I think it's safe to say you'll find out more about Jamie Wright, and I would think it's probably safe to say that at some point I will be in the lead suspect spot," he teased.
Ladin also defended the show's controversial season finale, which failed to resolve the mystery of Rosie's death.
"There were people [who were] very upset!" he admitted. "[But] I thought it was fantastic."
Ladin claimed that the reveal of Rosie's true killer "was something that really was never promised to viewers".
"I think if you're a viewer that wants things tied up at the end, there's a lot of procedurals on television that will do that for you," he said.
The Killing will return to AMC in 2012.
