Entourage star Jerry Ferrara has said that President Obama's power and influence will prevent the show from ever getting the axe.

The actor, who plays Turtle on the HBO series, revealed that Obama is a fan of the show.

"They did some special, an Inside the Obama White House special. Like, 'This is where President Obama watches such shows as Entourage'. So it kind of made me say, 'Well, HBO, if you ever think of cancelling us, the president would disagree with you'," he told The Tonight Show With Conan O'Brien.

The comedy returns to screens in the US on July 12. Ferrara also said that as long as the current head of state remains in charge, "we're good".

"If Mr Obama has his way, I think we'll be doing the show from an old age home," he added.

The sixth season of Entourage will reportedly feature cameo appearances from Zac Efron and 50 Cent.
