Speaking at the premiere of his latest movie, The Lovely Bones, Wahlberg also hinted that a movie could be on the cards.
Asked about the future of the show, he said: "We'll see; there could be more. But then, a movie."
A HBO spokeswoman added: "It is not out of the realm of possibility. Right now, the creators are concentrating on the new season."
