HBO confirmed in August that the series will conclude after its eighth season later in 2011.
In an interview with New York Magazine, the actor, who plays Ari Gold, revealed that he believes the show will wrap up in such a way that would lend itself nicely to a big screen continuation.
"Could we do more? Absolutely. But I think that's the perfect way to end it," he explained. "And people's biggest complaint with me is that there needs to be more show - it's not long enough. So I think that we're set up pretty nicely for a movie."
Piven also responded to the idea that the show has gone downhill in recent seasons, adding: "I don't think any of that concerns me. I think that it's my job to swing as hard as I can every time I go to set. That's my job and to leave it all - I'm going to give you a lot of bumper stickers right now - on the field."
Entourage actress Emmanuelle Chriqui previously revealed that she would love to be part of a film version of the series, while co-star Debi Mazar confessed that she was unsure if it could be successful.
