They ended up in the bottom two on last week's hip-hop themed show, but survived at the expense of The Collective.
However, this week the judges decided that The YellowJackets will not be continuing in the competition.
> 'Sing-Off' judge Sara Bareilles: 'We want to be kind to contestants'
The New York-based group had performed a mix of 'River of Dreams', 'She's Always a Woman' and 'Uptown Girl' by Billy Joel on Monday night's show, which had a 'superstar medley' theme.

Judge Ben Folds described the performance as "great" and admitted that he was surprised he liked the "vocal percussion", saying: "It was like you brought the wind."
He added that the group sings "with loads of heart" but said: "The only thing I ever worry about is you've got a group personality. We've got to know who the lead singers are when we shut our eyes. You're coming together more and more as a group - you don't have a character voice so you have to lean on your group as a whole."
Shawn Stockman claimed that the performance "did show another side" of the group and suggested it was "very endearing and sincere", while Sara Bareilles was impressed with the "blend".
However, she admitted that she was not a fan of the vocal percussion and suggested that their "raw energy" is threatening to overpower their leads.
Eventually, the YellowJackets discovered that they would not be continuing in the competition next week.
YellowJackets member Jamal Moore expressed the group's gratitude for the opportunity, saying: "It was an amazing experience. We learned so much from all the groups, we made tons of friends, and we know we made our family up there proud and our fans back in Rochester too.
"This isn't the last you've heard of the YellowJackets - we're going to keep making music and keep making you all proud."
They chose to perform 'Tubthumping' by Chumbawamba as their swansong.
They later added on their official Facebook page: "Thank you all so much for the kind words and support. It has been an honour to represent the University of Rochester community and in particular our YellowJacket alums, and our families who are our best supporters.
"Thanks for following us so far, but keep following!"
The other groups remaining in the competition are Dartmouth Aires, Afro-Blue, Vocal Point, Urban Method, Pentatonix and Delilah.
The Sing-Off returns next Monday at 8/7c on NBC.
