The first trailer for Homeland season two has debuted.
The clip - which runs at just over a minute - does not feature any new footage, but poses a number of unanswered questions from the first run of episodes.
The new season - which premieres on Showtime on Sunday, September 30 at 10/9c - will see Carrie (Claire Danes) back investigating Abu Nazir (Navid Negahban) "right away".
"It would have been too far a jump to bring her back into the fold full bore," showrunner Alex Gansa told TVLine.
"However, there are ways that she can work around the edges of the intelligence community that make sense."
Gansa also confirmed that Carrie, who suffers from Bipolar disorder, will be a more stable character in the second season.
"Carrie has willed herself into a place of mental health," he explained. "So she's very different from where she was last year."
The show exec also revealed that Diego Klattenhoff's Mike will be "a big factor" in the new episodes.
"Since he's in military intelligence, [Mike] is going to get a hold of the commission report on the assassination attempt against the vice president," he said. "There's going to be a bunch of stuff in there that doesn't make sense to him."
Homeland airs on Channel 4 on Sundays in the UK.
