'Homeland', 'Modern Family', 'Downton Abbey' dominate SAG Award noms

Homeland and Modern Family have dominated this year's SAG Award television nominations.

The 2012 Screen Actors Guild Awards will take place on January 27, 2013 and will be broadcast on TNT / TBS.

ABC comedy Modern Family picked up four nods earlier today (December 12), while both Showtime series Homeland and period drama Downton Abbey received three nods each.

Damian Lewis and Claire Danes were both recognised, and Homeland itself was also nominated in the category of 'Drama Ensemble'.

Eric Stonestreet, Ty Burrell and Sofia Vergara were all nominated for their Modern Family performances, with Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory), Alec Baldwin (30 Rock) and Betty White (Hot in Cleveland) among the other nominees.

Downton Abbey's nominations saw both Maggie Smith (the Dowager Countess) and Michelle Dockery (Lady Mary) shortlisted in the category of 'Drama Actress'.

Jessica Lange - who won the SAG award in January for her role on American Horror Story - is nominated again this year, while Jeff Daniels has also been recognised for his performance in Aaron Sorkin's divisive drama The Newsroom.
