Where did it all go wrong for the CIA agent and CIA suspect turned randy lovers? After Brody ended up snapping about his wife's affair and using his former best mate Mike as a punchbag last week, he was ready to lean on the pretty blonde lady who keeps popping up everywhere he turns.
Meanwhile, Carrie, sick of polygraphs, low on her meds and generally p*ssed off with the world, appeared happy to oblige with some boozing and frisky business. After the uncomfortable quickie in the backseat of the car last week, the pair moved things into the bedroom and didn't even require the lubrication of booze to get themselves under the sheets by the end of their cheeky weekend away to Carrie's family's cabin.
However, things didn't turn out too great for the new lovebirds after Brody caught wind of Carrie's snooping. Her hours of surveillance on the Sgt were unveiled when she immediately knew what brand of tea was his favourite (ah, that old relationship-breaking chestnut) and he soon cottoned on to the fact that she knew far more about him than she should from a couple of boozing sessions.
Suddenly, the bar brawls and bedroom romps went out the window as Carrie revealed all about her original intentions with Brody - to get him behind bars rather than in her knickers.
Carrie's revelations brought some home truths from Brody as well (he has met Abu Nazir, had converted to Islam and he confesses to killing his fellow officer Sgt Walker). However, most importantly, he insisted that - no matter what wild-eyed and conspiracy mad Carrie believes she knows - he is not a terrorist and hasn't been turned.
And if that wasn't enough to sour the mood completely, Carrie then received a phonecall from Saul. Tom Walker, who Brody believed he had killed, is alive. He'd been identified by Aileen and Saul and Estes had managed to establish that Aileen and Raqim's house was close enough to the airport (do you remember that end of episode twist?) for a sniper to do some damage. Oh, and did we mention that there was a helicopter landing pad in the view of the house? Oh, and it's the president's helicopter pad.
So Sgt Walker is alive and has been turned and wants to kill the president. Carrie was in tears after spying on Brody, sleeping with Brody, revealing that she spied on Brody and losing Brody.
Saul and Estes are finally cottoning on to the scale of the case they have on their hands. Back at Brody's house, his daughter was smoking pot and falling through glass windows. And his wife still couldn't help herself from copping a feel when hero Mike came around to save the day and do a bit of DIY.
