'666 Park Avenue', 'Last Resort': Axed shows to tweak final episodes

Last Resort and 666 Park Avenue are to tweak their final episodes to provide viewers with closure.

Both shows were axed by ABC last week, but will air all 13 of their ordered episodes, with the final instalments currently shooting.

"We have time to tweak," Last Resort co-creator Shawn Ryan told TVLine.

666 Park Avenue exec producers David Wilcox and Matt Miller also insisted that their horror drama will climax with a "powerful and surprising series finale".

"All your questions will be answered," said the pair. "We hope fans of the show continue watching all the way to the end of Jane [Rachael Taylor] and Henry's [Dave Annable] incredible journey to the dark side."

Miller previously thanked 666 Park fans for their support on Twitter when news of the show's cancellation broke, writing: "I just want to thank all of the amazing fans who watch and tweet about 666 Park Avenue. ABC is airing all of our episodes, so keep watching!"

Shawn Ryan has also spoken about Last Resort's axe, admitting that ABC dropping the series did not come as "a huge shock".

"Our ratings had been on the cusp, or really below the cusp, for a few weeks now," Ryan said on Kevin Pollak's Chat Show. "[The cancellation] didn't come as a huge shock."

Last Resort airs on Thursdays at 8/7c on ABC and on Tuesdays at 8pm on Sky1. 666 Park Avenue continues on Sundays at 10/9c in the US and will air on ITV2 in the UK in early 2013.
