The New Look of Dallas - taken from the DVD, which is out this Monday (November 12) - explores how the filming of Dallas changed for the new series.
The cast and crew of the TNT soap comment on the transition to a widescreen format, with Patrick Duffy (Bobby) explaining: "The old Dallas was old-school - you'd do close-ups, and then you'd do another close-up."
Dallas: The Complete First Season - available from Ultraviolet - contains all ten episodes of the revamped drama's first season, plus a number of special features, including documentary Southfork Legacy, behind-the-scenes footage of day one on set and Oil and Water - A Family Tradition - a discussion between the old and new cast on the enduring appeal of the Ewings.
Also included is an interview with costume designer Rachel Sage Kunin in Dressing Dallas, a retrospective on the classic 'Who Shot JR?' storyline and the featurette Ewing Family Love Oak.
