Arrow star Stephen Amell has described his superhero character as a "time bomb".
The new CW drama - based on DC's Green Arrow comics - stars Amell as Oliver Queen, a playboy who becomes a ruthless vigilante after spending five years marooned on a remote island.
"Oliver is damaged," Amell explained in a new video promo. "We talk about super-villains and all that stuff, but the most dangerous element in Oliver Queen's life right now is himself."
The Canadian actor also revealed that he has sustained "bumps and bruises and scrapes" filming Arrow's energetic action scenes.
"The fights are real - they're functional," he stated. "It's not just... ballet - it's real fighting."
Katie Cassidy, Willa Holland, Jamey Sheridan, Susanna Thompson and Colin Salmon also star in Arrow, which debuts in the US on October 10.
Sky1 has picked up the rights to air the series in the UK.
