The episode opens with Susan going to visit Paul in hospital. Paul explains that he passed out after chest pains and the doctors are running tests. He thanks her for coming to visit him even though he yelled at her and Susan apologises for asking for her house back. She leaves when the doctor arrives for Paul's test results. He explains that unless Paul has been poisoned or is pregnant, his symptoms point to stress. Paul is thrown by "poisoned" and the doctor explains that he once saw a man come in who was poisoned by antifreeze - his wife put it in his meals every day until it built up and he died. Paul is immediately suspicious of Susan. When he leaves, Susan is relieved that Paul is alright and offers to make him dinner. He says anything would be a "huge help".
Later, Susan goes to see Principal Hobson to ask for her teaching job back. He admits that he would like to hire her but can't because of her sexy videos on the internet. Susan explains that she thinks she deserves a second chance, but Hobson tells her that the parents' council has all the power. Susan vows to win them over. She goes to a meeting to help the council arrange an 'open house' but receives an extremely frosty reception and is the butt of some rude jibes. She admits that she wants to teach again and asks for the chance to earn their forgiveness. Eventually, she is put in charge of the streamers. Meanwhile, Paul takes one of Susan's casseroles to be tested for traces of antifreeze. It emerges that there are traces that - if he kept eating it - would eventually kill him. Susan returns home and bakes some cookies for Paul while Felicia keeps her company. Susan updates Felicia on Paul's condition and says she thinks he should have more tests done. However, Felicia quickly suggests that rest and good food is the best thing. When Susan's back is turned, Felicia adds antifreeze to the cookie mixture.
On the day of the open house, Susan goes to drop off the streamers. The head of the council notices the cookies in the car and thanks her profusely for bringing them, explaining that two other mums failed to make anything. Susan pretends that she was just being prepared and hands them over. She is thrilled when the council head says they should make some time to talk to Hobson about Susan being hired again. Susan takes over a lasagne to Paul, but he says he wants her to eat it with him. Susan is late for the school function, but Paul begins to act strangely. Eventually, he hands her a knife and tells her to stab him - it would be faster than watching him die slowly. Susan is confused and Paul reveals he knows his food is poisoned. Susan insists that she never poisoned the food and Paul asks if Mike did. Susan has a sudden realisation and worries about the cookies. She rushes to the school, where she discovers they have already been put out. She rushes through the crowd, knocking people's cookies to the floor and tipping over all the trays on the side. The council head begins a speech and, spotting Susan, thanks her for the cookies. Susan rushes up on to the stage and tells everyone not to eat the cookies because they're poisoned - although at first the guests think it is a joke. As she begs them not to eat, Paul arrives with police officers and points Susan out. The cops walk over to arrest her.
Elsewhere in the episode, Tom announces that he has booked a luxury family holiday to Hawaii. Lynette is disappointed as she has spent ages planning a two-week road trip and complains that Tom didn't talk to her first. That night, in bed, Lynette continues to moan about Tom booking the holiday. He points out that the kids were really excited and Lynette says it is only because they've never had a lavish vacation. The pair agree that they will each pitch holidays based on the same budget and the kids can decide. The next day, Lynette starts her pitch with the Grand Canyon and a National Forest, but the children seem bored. However, they perk up when they see her produce photographs of a huge rollercoaster and a luxury vehicle called the Road Juggernaut which was used by Justin Bieber. Tom is next up and shows them a helicopter tour of a volcano and swimming with dolphins. However, Lynette puts them off with images of a shark and a helicopter crash. The kids leave to decide, and Tom calls Lynette a "hypocrite". He reminds her that she used to say that when he earned the money, he could make the decisions - but now he is, she still wants the control. He adds that she can't handle his success. The argument escalates and the pair begin calling each other names, but are interrupted when they realise Penny is watching and crying. Lynette goes to comfort her and, later, tells Tom that Penny thinks they are about to divorce. They agree that they should go on a vacation by themselves to work through their problems and Tom suggests this weekend - although he adds that he has to check with the office. Lynette asks if he is going to get busy at the last minute and be unable to go, but Tom snaps at her.
Meanwhile, Chuck comes over to Bree's to ask her out on a date. Bree initially plays hard to get, but soon agrees. However, when Renee finds out, she demands to carry out a background check on Chuck. Bree reluctantly agrees, and just before her date Renee arrives with a file. Bree is shocked to read something, but goes out with Chuck. At their meal, Bree starts trying to find out about Chuck's life and eventually reveals that she knows he is still married. Chuck points out that he filed for divorce a year ago but Bree is annoyed that he is technically still married. She adds that he can't be annoyed that she carried out a background check and Chuck agrees - before revealing that he read Bree's police file before their date. Bree is furious and storms out of the restaurant. Chuck drives her home and asks if he still has a chance with her. When Bree says he doesn't, he pulls over to collect a prostitute and take her to a women's shelter. The prostitute - Violet - asks why Bree doesn't like Chuck but Bree says it is none of her business, causing Violet to say Chuck is better off without her. Chuck smiles slightly before dropping Violet off. Violet says she'll be back on the streets tomorrow and says all she will ever be is a prostitute. Chuck announces that Bree used to be a prostitute - causing her to be shocked - but turned her life around. Violet asks if it is true and Bree quietly says she doesn't like to talk about it. Violet is inspired and gets out of the car to go to the shelter. Bree looks at Chuck, who points out that as he had no chance with Bree he had nothing to lose. The next day, Bree goes to see Chuck at work and admits that she was touched by their conversation with Violet. She apologises for carrying out a background check and he does the same. He explains that they are older and more wary about dating these days. However, they decide to go out on a normal first date together.

Gaby insists that she will be fine, but that night Juanita arrives in their bedroom, saying she saw a bloody stranger standing on the lawn looking at their house. She asks to sleep in their bed with them. Later, Gaby talks to Lee about Juanita's nightmares and he explains that he used to have scary dreams as well. Gaby asks him to talk to Juanita but is annoyed when instead of reassuring her, he tells her all the details of his nightmare - scaring her more. Eventually, Gaby decides that the only way for Juanita to get over her fears is if they sleep in a tent on the lawn together. That night, they get into the tent but Juanita is terrified - especially when she sees the silhouette of a man with an axe.
