The May 13 series finale of the ABC show, titled 'Finishing The Hat', will feature Bree (Marcia Cross) considering marriage and Susan's (Teri Hatcher) daughter Julie (Andrea Bowen) giving birth.
Other storylines include Renee (Vanessa Williams) tying the knot with Ben (Charles Mesure) and Mrs McCluskey (Kathryn Joosten) dealing with the final stages of cancer, according to TV Guide.
Felicity Huffman also promised a "romantic and fulfilling" end to Lynette and Tom's (Doug Savant) story, revealing: "In the finale, we dance together."
Asked to sum up the final Desperate Housewives episode, showrunner Marc Cherry explained: "'It's that satisfying ending you want in a show that's been running eight years."
He confirmed that the series will not close with one of its famed 'disasters', arguing that to have Wisteria Lane destroyed would be "anticlimactic".
"There would have been a fire or flood," he said. "But we've done so many things to the Lane already, I thought it would be anticlimactic."
Former Desperate Housewives stars James Denton (Mike Delfino), Dana Delany (Kathryn Mayfair) and Christine Estabrook (Martha Huber) have all been confirmed for the finale, while series narrator Brenda Strong will have an on-screen appearance as Mary Alice Young.
Desperate Housewives continues Sundays at 9/8c on ABC, and in the UK on E4 on Sundays at 10pm.
