The two-minute clip received its first airing on HBO ahead of Game of Thrones on Sunday night (April 29). It also features Emily Mortimer and Dev Patel, in addition to Jane Fonda as media mogul Leona Lansing.
Mortimer, who plays McAvoy's producer Mackenzie MacHale, has described her character as "crazy [and] demented", and promised that Sorkin's script "features plenty of cool chit-chat [while] walking down endless corridors".
The first trailer for The Newsroom, which debuted at the start of April, featured Daniels's character losing his cool at a public question-and-answer session.
The Newsroom premieres on HBO on June 24.
