Sorkin (The West Wing, The Social Network) is creator and showrunner of the new HBO drama, which premieres on June 24.
"[The dialogue is] very musical," Daniels told the Los Angeles Times. "Aaron's not the first to do this type of dialogue. All the great ones since Shakespeare can write like that.
"But when it gets to that [quick] pace, it's wonderful, very much like a piece of music."
Daniels, who plays irascible news anchor Will McAvoy, admitted that he had received advice from former Sopranos star James Gandolfini on making his series television debut.
"James said, 'Get sleep'," he revealed. "It's like one of those things when women talk to others about giving birth, and they say it's going to hurt.
"There's only so much you can say to someone who has never gone through it... what can I say? It was a long labour."
He added: "There's a freedom in knowing you can do [that schedule], but it ain't for the meek."
The Newsroom will air on Sky Atlantic in the UK.
