Lance Barber wins 'Big Bang Theory' role

Lance Barber has signed up for a role on The Big Bang Theory.

The actor will guest in the 11th episode of the CBS sitcom's fifth season, according to Entertainment Weekly.

He will play a former high school nemesis of Leonard (Johnny Galecki). Barber has previously played recurring roles on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Californication and United States of Tara.

He also starred in short-lived HBO comedy The Comeback opposite Lisa Kudrow, and has appeared in episodes of Justified, CSI: Miami and The Mentalist.

Last month, The Big Bang Theory rose from a season low of 13.3m viewers to a high of 14.7m.

The series continues on Thursdays at 8/7c on CBS, and airs on E4 in the UK.
