Joel McHale teases 'Community' season five: 'The sky is the limit'

By
Joel McHale has said that he has high hopes for Community's fifth season, now that creator Dan Harmon has returned to the sitcom.

Harmon confirmed earlier in June that he is returning to the critically-acclaimed sitcom, a year after he had been fired amid much controversy by NBC.

McHale recently told Entertainment Weekly that he is very excited to be working closely with Harmon once again.

"With Dan Harmon back, it is really the sky's the limit," the Jeff Winger actor said, adding: "I don't know what to expect!"

McHale then quipped: "I mean, I know what to expect with Dan in that I know the scripts are gonna be dynamite and they will be absolutely unique and original, but I really don't know what they have come up with."

The actor also commented on Harmon's apology for slating the writing in Community's fourth season on his Harmontown podcast.

"[Dan] has said in his interviews [that] he wants to write the hell out of this season, so that's what I focus on and am very thrilled about," McHale remarked.

"So yeah, that's kind of how I see it. I mean Dan has said stuff before during his podcasts so... You know, I think finally once we premiere, [then] I think people will care about the episodes more than anything."

Community's fifth season has widely been rumoured to be the show's last, although that has not been confirmed by NBC.
