US 'Life on Mars' is back on track

A localised pilot from Ally McBeal creator David E. Kelley and starring Jason O'Mara was shot for ABC last summer.
The show has been on hold, possibly delayed by the writers' strike, but reports yesterday said the US network was close to confirming a series.
Road creators Josh Appelbaum, Andre Nemec and Scott Rosenberg may join as executive producers.
Kelley may drop out of close involvement, though he owns the rights in the US so his agreement is needed for the project to go ahead.
The pilot starred O'Mara as modern-day policeman Sam Tyler who finds himself in the 1970s, and Colm Meaney as his tough-talking boss, Gene Hunt.
