Katherine Heigl to take new 'Grey's' break

Katherine Heigl will take another break from Grey's Anatomy later this year, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The 30-year-old actress, who has played Dr Izzie Stevens on the ABC medical drama since 2005, will reportedly go on belated maternity leave following her adoption of a baby girl from Korea.

As a result, Izzie will be missing from a string of episodes which are likely to air in 2010.

Earlier this year, Heigl took a break from filming to shoot romantic comedy Life As We Know It.
