Kevin McKidd talks 'Grey's love triangle

Kevin McKidd has teased fans over what is to come for his character on Grey's Anatomy.

McKidd's alter ego Owen has been caught between Kim Raver's Teddy and Sandra Oh's Cristina in recent weeks.

However, last night's episode saw Cristina tell her mentor Teddy that she can have Owen if she stays at the hospital to help her out.

"Owen's not too happy about that because he suddenly feels like a baseball card," McKidd told TV Guide.

"There's a lot of fallout to do with that and there's a lot of complication and exploration of their relationship. It's really interesting. It becomes very intense because of that."

Reflecting on the recent developments, he maintained that although Owen loves Cristina, he "has feelings" for Teddy because of what they have been through together.

"It's almost like people who climb Mount Everest, they know more about each other than the person's wife, you know what I mean? There's an intense knowledge of each other that Teddy and Owen have that he and Cristina don't have," he said.

"That's what makes it an interesting triangle."

Grey's Anatomy continues Thursday at 9pm on ABC.
