Scott Foley has admitted that he has no idea whether he will have a romantic storyline on Grey's Anatomy.

Foley joined the show in last night's episode as Henry, a seriously ill patient with no health insurance.

Teddy (Kim Raver) took up Henry's case and offered to marry him so that he could use her benefits, but Foley told E! Online that he does not know if their relationship will develop further.

"I can tell you that I've shot three episodes and so far nothing's happened yet in that department," he said. "No kissing. [But] this is Grey's Anatomy. So I would say there's definitely potential, and I love the fact that there could be drama in the love department."

Foley also revealed that he doesn't know how long Henry will be around, saying: "I have done three [episodes]. I'm off for the next two. I go back the first of the year but they haven't said for how many. [Creator] Shonda [Rhimes] has said they want to develop this character. Obviously depending on how the audience reacts to what happens with Henry and Teddy, I think there's the possibility for some longevity for the character, which would be nice."

Grey's Anatomy airs on Thursdays at 9/8c on ABC.
