Chyler Leigh has admitted that she loved filming the musical instalment of Grey's Anatomy.

Leigh, who plays Lexie, revealed that there are "a lot of really beautiful voices" in the cast.

"I had an absolute blast," she said. "It was a lot of work, but it was an experience that I am so grateful for. I got to sing 'Breathe' by Anna Nalick. I already love that song so I was really happy about doing it."

She continued: "I usually sing by myself. My husband knows I sing and close friends of mine know that I sing, but it was my first time actually singing in front of a group of people. It was definitely a little nerve-wracking in the beginning, but it was so worth it that I just had to say, 'Suck it up!'"

Leigh also joked that she has new respect for the cast of Glee after filming the episode.

"Oh man, I can't imagine," she said. "All that work, the rehearsals, they must be busting their butts on a constant basis. Kudos to them for sure!"

The musical instalment of Grey's Anatomy, which will feature songs made famous by the show, is due to air on ABC on March 31.
