The beheading of Dr. Sara Tancredi, portrayed by a stand-in actress, stunned many viewers during the third season and Callies told Entertainment Weekly that she certainly wasn't expecting to reprise the role: "I put this character to bed and I mourned her and I let go of it... and to sort of resurrect her, in more than one sense, I find that she's changed."
Callies also discussed the challenges of returning to the role: "What [Sara] went though in the third season has taken her further away from herself than she ever thought she could ever go. I think the journey of the season for me is a journey of trying to find myself again and seeing if that's someone I like."
The fourth season of Prison Break will be screened this autumn.
