Entertainment Weekly reports that 54-year-old Quinlan will play "a mysterious woman who has ties to The Company and a surprising connection to Michael [Scofield]". It is believed she will appear in at least four upcoming episode of the show, which is currently struggling in the ratings.
Quinlan was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Academy Award in 1996 for her performance in Apollo 13. She also starred in Event Horizon and Breakdown.
Muse Watson's return will reportedly be as part of a dream or hallucination that Scofield experiences as a result of his ongoing illness.
The character of Westmoreland, who had a hidden fortune, was killed off during the Fox River breakout at the end of Prison Break's first season.
