'Prison Break' star joins ABC's 'Gates'

Prison Break actor Frank Grillo has reportedly been cast in ABC's The Gates.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 46-year-old actor, who played Nick Savrinn in Break's first season, has landed the lead role on ABC's supernatural crime drama.

The show revolves around a big-city cop - played by Grillo - who is quickly promoted to chief of police. However, he soon realises that there is something darker going on with the residents.

Luke Mably, Janina Gavankar and Chandra West are also attached to the project, which is being eyed for a summer launch. Production is slated to begin in late March in Louisiana.
