S03E05: 'Interference'
Schofield tells his brother to arrange an escape vehicle outside Sona prison the next day at 3pm – in broad daylight due to the abundance of military jeeps patrolling at night.

Andrew Tyge enters the prison as an inmate, instantly recognising Whistler and later saying that he met him – then known as McFadden – in Nice in 1997.

Binocular-using Schofield, Mahone and Whistler spend the day monitoring the external guards for any weaknesses, soon observing that the sunlight blinds one of them for a short period. Another guard also has a fondness for watching sport on television, which has a tendency to suffer signal weakness.

Sucre, in his new role as a gravedigger, agrees to smuggle some goods into the prison for Lechero's cousin Augusto. He does this as a one-off for $5,000 but is soon bullied into doing more.

A guard sees Schofield in his cell after the light from the sun reflects from his binoculars. The guards raid the prison and search for the culprit. Whistler eventually takes the blame, producing a book on birdwatching and claiming he was doing his hobby at the time.

During the raid, T-Bag hides Sister Mary Francis – in reality a prostitute who sleeps with Lechero – in a closet. Lechero has refused to pay Mary for sex and she takes $30 from his cashbox, which is soon noticed. T-Bag jumps to her rescue and claims that he gave it to her so she could pay for her journey home.

Burrows and Whistler's woman Sofia head to the beach near international waters to prepare for the getaway, burying an ice box and stocking up on supplies.

Following the invasion of the guards, Schofield is locked out of his cell. His plan lies in tatters but Mahone reveals that he has witnessed a guard arriving at work with a full cup of coffee everyday – and suggests that if they can reach the cup the escape can still take place.
