S03E07: 'Vamonos'
Schofield and Whistler go their separate ways to spend a few minutes preparing for their fight to the death, but the former reveals it is a ruse to create a distraction. Everything goes to plan, with the guard drugged by his coffee and the glint of the sun blinding the other guard. They are slightly delayed by Sammy entering the cell though, causing them to momentarily hide. This has a big knock on effect, for by the time they scramble down the makeshift ladder the sun is no longer in position and they have to return.

Lechero tracks down both men and demands that the fight take place. Surrounded by baying prisoners, one of whom starts throwing rocks, they are given no choice in the matter. Whistler cracks and attacks Schofield.

Mahone is being driven in a car by his former colleagues to a hotel, where he will prepare to give evidence against the government in order for a reduced sentence. He suspects that they are trying to make him confess to some murders, but Lang assures him they are not trying to trick him. He is badly missing his medication though.

Sucre watches from afar as Susan turns up at the exchange point with LJ, calling Burrows and telling him that he is okay. A spanner is thrown into the works though, as Sofia pulls a gun on Burrows on the beach as he prepares to set off. She doesn't want her beloved boyfriend to be handed over to the nasty corporation.

Schofield's makeshift ladder wasn't properly secured and it falls down alongside the prison wall, alerting the guards. They storm Sona just as Whistler is on the verge of finishing off Schofield with a rock. With the alarm being sounded, Burrows and Sofia realise that something has gone wrong and they need to help each other again. However, in order to keep LJ alive Burrows calls Susan and claims that he has the two escapees with him in the boot of his car.

The head of Sona, Colonel Escamilla, shoots the prisoner whose cell the ladder fell out of and then blames Lechero for allowing the attempted breakout to happen. He exposes all the luxuries that Lechero has secretly enjoyed, causing resentment amongst the other inmates.

Susan hears from a colleague outside Sona that no one has escaped, causing her to drive off with LJ in the van. Sucre sees this happening, jumps into his car and swerves in front of the van causing a crash. Burrows arrives on the scene and puts a gun to her head, but a standoff ensues as LJ has a gun to his head held by Agent King. Burrows backs down once it's agreed that another attempt will be made to break Whistler out.

Bellick tells Schofield how sorry he is about Sara's death and that he believes the real villains are not in prison, but outside. Lechero summons Schofield and discreetly tells him to attempt another breakout – with him involved.

Schofield then witnesses a secret meeting – between Whistler and someone who has been working for him all along – Susan.
