Glen A. Larson has been approached by the studio to write and produce a film based on the Sci Fi Channel show.
The movie would feature characters from the series such as Adama, Starbuck and Baltar, although the storyline would have no connection to the televised plot, says The Hollywood Reporter.
The Sci Fi Channel recently announced that a prequel to the cult drama has been given the green light.
Caprica, which is set half a century before the channel's signature series, will be produced by Battlestar's Ronald D. Moore and David Eick.
