'Galactica' prequel 'Caprica' lands leads

Forthcoming Battlestar Galactica prequel Caprica has reportedly found its leads for the two-hour pilot.

Jericho actor Esai Morales will play Battlestar character William Adama's father Joseph in the Sci Fi Channel movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He is described as a "deeply passionate man with a strong sense of justice", not unlike his son.

TV Squad states that Caprica's female lead will be played by Deadwood's Paula Malcomson, who will star as "volatile surgeon" and "double agent" Amanda Graystone.

Caprica is scheduled to begin filming in the summer, for broadcast towards the end of the year.
