Songs performed on the musical comedy, which was recently picked up by E4 for broadcast in 2010, have been doing well on iTunes and a soundtrack is due out on November 3.
Series co-creator Ryan Murphy has said that the tour will most likely be scheduled for spring 2010, Entertainment Weekly reports.
In July, Fox Broadcasting president Kevin Reilly suggested that "there's lots of things that could happen" on the back of the show becoming a hit.
He said: "We've had a tremendous amount of enthusiasm from our music partners. Certainly if these kids become stars in their own right, who knows? Live appearances. Albums. There's lots of things that could happen."
Glee was recently given a full-season order by Fox.
