Jenna Ushkowitz, who plays Tina Cohen-Chang on the series, told E! that the songs will have to relate to the plot.
She said: "I'm really excited to see what everybody sings and how they'll tie into the storyline. The writers do find it very important to make sure the songs go along with the storyline."
Kevin McHale, who portrays wheelchair-bound high school student Artie Abrams, added that he will not mind if he does not get to sing one of Madonna's songs, saying: "I just can't wait to see Amber [Riley, who plays Mercedes Jones] do a Madonna song. I know she's going to rip it apart."
The Glee cast recently recorded a cover of 'Last Christmas' by Wham! that will be released as a single in mid-November.
