Glee star Mark Salling has admitted that his mum got a "kick" out of a Twitter message from Neil Diamond.
The 27-year-old actor, who plays Noah 'Puck' Puckerman on the Fox musical comedy, covered the singer's song 'Sweet Caroline' on a recent episode of the series.
The 68-year-old entertainer then praised the rendition on his Twitter account, TV Guide reports.
Salling said: "My mum is probably getting more of a kick out of it than I am. That was her favourite artist. To see how excited she was was the best part of it for me."
The first soundtrack from the show Glee: The Music Volume 1, which features Salling's version of 'Sweet Caroline', was recently released. A second LP will arrive on December 8.
