'Glee' leads Golden Globe TV nominations

The nominations for the 68th Golden Globe Awards have been announced, with Fox's Glee leading the pack.

The musical comedy received a total of five nominations, including 'Best Comedy Series', 'Best Actor in a Television Comedy Series' for Matthew Morrison (Will Schuester) and 'Best Actress in a Television Comedy Series' for Lea Michele (Rachel Berry).

Morrison will compete against the likes of Hung's Thomas Jane and 30 Rock's Alec Baldwin, while Michele's fellow nominees include Laura Linney for The Big C and Edie Falco for Nurse Jackie.

In dramatic categories, actors nominated for a lead performance include Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston and Mad Men actor Jon Hamm. Hamm's co-star Elisabeth Moss was also nominated as 'Best Actress in a Television Drama Series', alongside Sons of Anarchy star Katey Sagal and The Closer's Kyra Sedgwick.

HBO gangster series Boardwalk Empire, CBS legal drama The Good Wife, Showtime's Dexter and AMC's Mad Men share the title of most-nominated drama series, with three nods each.

30 Rock and Modern Family also received three nominations, as did Starz mini-series Pillars of the Earth and HBO TV movie Temple Grandin.

HBO was the most-nominated network overall, achieving a total of 12 nominations. Showtime came in second, with eight nominations.

The Golden Globes will air on January 16, 2011 on NBC at 5pm PST. Ricky Gervais will host for the second year running.
