Mays explained that she does not have any performances coming up on screen, but will be working with her co-star Matthew Morrison for the record.
"Matt and I are doing a duet on the Glee Christmas album, which is very fun for me because I've never laid down an original song before," she told TV Line.
"We're doing an original song that Adam Anders, our music producer, wrote for us, and I felt flattered and honoured to do that. Plus, it's just nice to sing Christmas songs. I wore red pants the day I sang it!"
Mays also revealed that she is interested in the relationship between Will and Emma, who have been dating this season.
"I do feel that if I'm going to be sentimental about it, there are elements to both Emma and Will that bring out the best in each other, and that's what's good about well-written couples," she said. "I definitely think that Will has the ability to do that for Emma."
Mays has previously admitted that she is nervous about the possibility of Emma losing her virginity in a future episode of Glee.
The show airs on Tuesdays at 8/7c on Fox in the US and on Thursdays at 9pm on Sky1 in the UK.
