At the Television Critics Association press tour this weekend, Fox's entertainment president Kevin Reilly confirmed that certain characters on Glee will graduate but ruled out the possibility of a spinoff.
However, he confirmed that Lea Michele will return for the fourth season and Chris Colfer later revealed that he will also be back.
Monteith has now told The Hollywood Reporter that he will be a part of future episodes, saying: "Yes, I'll be back. I'm very excited."
Meanwhile, Michele revealed that she is pleased with the way the graduation has been dealt with.
"[Executive producer] Ryan [Murphy] has come up with a brilliant, ground-breaking idea for how to include us graduating high school seniors into next season and it's really exciting," she said.
"We don't want to give away the new formula but I'm excited and Cory is so excited to be coming back next year. When we heard Ryan's plan, it really made us even more thrilled."
Glee returns with a new episode on January 17 at 8/7c on Fox.
