Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy invited Midler to appear on the series earlier this year, but the actress revealed this week that she didn't get a follow-up call about the role.

"I'm still waiting for the call. But, it's fine," Midler said, adding: "Maybe I could play [Sue Sylvester's] evil sister!"
Colfer has now assured Access Hollywood that Midler's guest appearance is still in the works and even hinted about what role she might play.
"I heard she might have a close encounter with my character," the 22-year-old actor teased.
He then declared: "I'm very excited about [it], because I'm a huge Bette Midler fan."
Glee has boasted Hollywood heavy-hitters such as Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Hudson, as well as Glee Project winner Blake Jenner.
Fox airs the next all-new Glee episode on Thursday, January 10 at 9/8c.
