Last month, it was announced that Morrison, who plays Dr Allison Cameron on the Fox series, would be leaving the show in November.
However, it was later reported that her future with the medical drama is still uncertain after executive producers David Shore and Katie Jacobs insisted that stories of her exit being permanent were just rumours.
"I think [Cameron's departure] will tighten up the team a little bit," Edelestein told E! Online. "There will be a loss of that character, which is a great character.
"It will continue on its merry way. We were all sad. I don't think she's gone for good. They say she's going to be coming and going."
House continues Mondays at 8pm on Fox in the US and Sundays at 9pm on Sky1 in the UK.
