Speaking to E! Online, Spencer explained that his character Chase will have fewer serious storylines in the new episodes.
"It's a much lighter season for me," he said. "Last season was pretty heavy and dark for Chase and season seven is a bit lighter and a bit more frisky."
Spencer also hinted that Chase may have a new love interest in the upcoming season.
"There's a few," he said. "We will have a new female lead coming in [played by Amber Tamblyn] and I'm sure we're going to jostle for position to bag her!"
