Evan Rachel Wood joins 'True Blood'

Evan Rachel Wood has been tapped to play a major role in future episodes of True Blood, reports Entertainment Weekly.

Creator Alan Ball has cast Wood in the role of Sophie-Anne, the vampire Queen of Louisiana, who is described as charming, wily and ruthless.

Wood will appear in two episodes towards the end of the show's upcoming second season.

Earlier this year, Wood's co-star Anna Paquin revealed that she auditioned five times for her role in the HBO vampire series.
