Moyer 'not allowed out' for 'True Blood'

The actor, who plays the character of vampire Bill Compton, told The Tonight Show With Conan O'Brien that he found it extremely frustrating having to pale down for the role.
"When we began shooting it they said I wasn't allowed to go out in the sun. I'd just got here and all English people when they come here, they go and live by the beach," he said.
"So I was down by the beach but I wasn't allowed to go outside. I'd brought my dog with me over from London, and we just literally had to stay inside the whole time, apart from the odd midnight walk."
However, following six months of filming, Moyer was eventually allowed to work on a tan.
"Finally they said, 'Oh, don't worry about it, we've been shooting for so long'. I finally got out there, doing this slow-motion run to the water like Bo Derek. Well, more like Dudley Moore to be honest!" he added. "Now I can't get enough of it, I'm there every day."
True Blood co-star Anna Paquin recently said that she plans to bare all during the show's second season, currently airing on HBO in the US.
The vampire drama premieres on FX next month and will be shown on Channel 4 later this year.
