The actor's wife Carrie Preston currently stars on the show as waitress Arlene Fowler.
Emerson told E! Online: "When I see [True Blood creator] Alan [Ball], he always says 'We have to find something for you'.
"I would be more than happy to do something on that show if they have the right part and I'm available. It would be a treat."
He also made some suggestions about the type of character he could play on the programme.
"[I could be] some new kind of supernatural creature," he said. "Or just an everyday humanoid. I could be a pizza delivery man who's torn apart by werewolves."
Emerson recently received an Emmy nomination for his role as Lost's Benjamin Linus.
True Blood continues on Sundays at 9pm on HBO.
