Jim Beaver has dropped hints about his future on Supernatural.
Beaver's character Bobby recently returned from the dead as a ghost, surprising Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles).
"The rest of the season is going to be about trying to resolve the fight against the Leviathans," the actor told E! Online. "But Bobby's other task is to... thwart the fates that normally condemn ghosts to become vengeful, angry spirits who are not in control of their actions."
Beaver - who also hinted that the finale will boast a "rip-roaring battle" - admitted that he had found the reaction of Supernatural fans to Bobby's death "really touching".
"It was really affecting... how sorrowful the whole audience seemed to be about it," he said. "I knew at some point, in some fashion, I'd probably be back - [but] I didn't know for certain and I didn't know when.
"Actors can work for decades and not get the loving feedback I got on this show and I'm deeply appreciative of it - I don't take it lightly at all."
The 61-year-old star also confirmed that he was excited to start work on a potential eighth season of Supernatural alongside new showrunner Jeremy Carver.
"I hate to see [current showrunner] Sera [Gamble] go, but Jeremy's a great guy," he said. "I'm looking forward to working with him if I get the chance next year."
Supernatural airs on Fridays at 9/8c on The CW.
