Note: The light summary of this article provides only gentle teasers as to what happens in this episode, and is suitable for reading before viewing. The full summary serves as a more detailed recap of the episode.

Light Summary: On a mission to save their father from Meg, Sam and Dean seek help from an old family friend, Bobby. When Meg shows up on Bobbys doorstep, the brothers lure her into a trap and exorcise the demon from her body after learning where John is being held prisoner. While trying to rescue John, the demon shows up and a full battle ensues between the Winchesters and the demon they have been searching for all their lives.

Full Summary: Sam and Dean ready themselves to leave Salvation now that the demon knows they're there. With the father being held captive, the brothers only have one option: they have to trade the colt for their father.

Realising that they could be fighting a lost battle, Sam and Dean turn to family friend, Bobby. Sam browses an old book of Bobby's and finds a device that supposedly traps demons.

Meg turns up on Bobby's doorstep demanding the colt – but it seems her luck has already run out.

Dean attempts to extort information on their father's whereabouts from Meg. She's not playing ball. Sam believes, however, there's only one way in which they can get her to talk. He starts to chant an exorcism. Will she crack under the pressure? Or will Sam go all the way and drive out the evil force which possesses her?

Later, the brothers head out to locate their father. They finally track down the building where John is being held. Sam and Dean figure that the only way they can get is by getting everyone else out. Sam pulls the fire alarm and soon after both Sam and Dean, dressed in fire fighting gear, search the building. It's not long before they pinpoint their father.

Outside, Sam is attacked by one of 'them' and looks to have met a sticky end. Dean, however, comes to his brother's rescue with the only real safeguard they possess… They pick their father up and head back to the motel.

Back in the hotel room, Sam, Dean and John await the arrival of the demon. Dean, however, has reason to believe the demon's already in the room. Will Sam and Dean fall foul at the hands of the demon which killed their mother? Will John survive being possessed? And, more importantly, will the demon escape unscathed?

Still, for the Winchesters, it's not over until it's over…
