Trevino told TV Guide that Tyler will ask Bill (Jack Coleman) to figure out a way to get rid of the sire bond tying him to Klaus (Joseph Morgan).
In last week's episode of the show, Tyler ended up biting Caroline (Candice Accola) against his will after an order from Klaus.
"[Bill] was able to resist compulsion so [Tyler] figures out not only is he the [father of the] girl he wants to be with, but maybe he can teach me some way to resist the sire bond to Klaus," Trevino explained.
However, Trevino revealed that Klaus wants to "test" the sire bond and warned that Tyler will "find it increasingly difficult to deal with".
Trevino also suggested that it will be some time before the connection is broken, saying: "[Bill] goes through the list of what needs to be done and it's not going to happen overnight. The sire bond is a lot stronger than anyone could've imagined [and] it'll be a while before Tyler can resist [it] and confront Klaus about it."
He added: "[Tyler] was chosen to become the first successful hybrid so he wants to make Klaus happy, but now he sees how evil Klaus is and maybe this is a curse upon the curse he already has of being a werewolf."
The Vampire Diaries airs on Thursdays at 8/7c on The CW.
