Joseph Morgan has said that a showdown between Klaus and Rebekah is inevitable.

The Vampire Diaries star insisted that Rebekah (Claire Holt) will not stay dead on the CW series, adding that he hopes to see a confrontation between her and his character in the near future.

"I can't reveal exactly how she'll come out of the coffin," Morgan told the Orlando Sentinel.

"I think Rebekah is the sibling Klaus is closest to. In a way, she's the one he's dreading to see the most because he loves her the most," he added.

"I think that confrontation between the two of them will have to happen, and I think it would be a crime if it doesn't happen this season."

Morgan previously expressed the hope that Klaus will return to The Vampire Diaries next season.
