The actress, who plays Elena Gilbert on the CW series, took to Twitter to confess that she is eager for a break from the show.
"Looking forward to a well deserved vacation getaway after 9 months of shooting!" Dobrev wrote.
The series wrapped its third season on April 3.
"That's a wrap on Season 3!!!!!!!!!!" Dobrev posted. "To the incredibly hardworking TVD Crew, today's Picture Quote of the Day is dedicated to you. Congrats on season3 Wrap!"
She included a picture of a quote from William Shakespeare, which read: "Evermore thanks."
Joseph Morgan, who plays the Original Klaus, recently promised that the last episode of season three will be "epic", adding that there will be a fan backlash.

The Vampire Diaries returns with a new episode on April 19 at 8pm on The CW. The third season finale airs May 10.
The show is broadcast in the UK Tuesdays at 9pm on ITV2.
